I am going to be traveling to New Zealand in May. I know it is the fall/winter approach but only time I can get off work. I want to head south but not sure I will be able to do that with the temperature around that time of Year. I may end up in Auckland and then just hike my way out of there and spend two to two and a half weeks traversing around the North East of North Island. Any ideas or suggestions would be most welcome. I am going to be bringing camping gear and trying to forage for food as much as I can. Thanks
