If we can identify a list of candidate accounts, do you think there will be an opportunity some time to run a SQL query or two to purge all their contributions? As in all forum posts, all track and photo comments, and whatever else is there.

I realise spammers create new accounts a lot, but in practice I think there are also a few particular accounts that seem to be responsible for a large amount of the existing spam, filtered and not. Flagging forum posts works to an extent, but unfortunately it only seems to work in some places. (eg. spam still clutters up the forum index pages, threads with no comments still hang around, etc.)

Hi everybody, my first goal is simply to take out the trash, as it were. I think I've cleared out quite a lot this weekend.....

Please flag rubbish you find and I'll sort it out. Then I'll move on to tightening things up.

Mstthew: sounds like a good idea. At least well end up with only spammers with a least a basic graps of the English language. A better class of spam! Should eliminate norm's 'ruskys' at least.
