This is an older photo of the hut, set in the lunar landscape of the Red Hills. I think the Wairoa Right Branch Hut has been moved to this site now

Honora Sad to see the hut go. It was pretty cool. We did a trip some time ago from Hunters Hut, over the tops and down to Porters Hut on a lovely day with frost lacing the vegetation on the top and a bit of clag to make the nav. a bit more challenging.
