The prominent summit on Jellicoe Ridge is Mt Guinevere (2042m) Mt Rolleston is out of shot further around to the right.A spur of the moment decision was taken to walk up Avalanche Peak to take advantage of near perfect weather. It was the first time I'd been up there since the 1970's and gazing at surrounding peaks brought back a few memories. The only other walkers encountered were a couple from Greymouth.]]></description>
