Te Ekaou Hut in the southern Ruahines. One of few surviving bushedge huts in the Ruahines. Accessed across private land, or by a 2-4 hour walk up marginal strips along either Te Ekaou Stream or Makawakawa Stream. A good track leads from here to Forks Hut, from where a route / track heads to the top end of Takapari Road
