We left Auckland at 8.00am drove to track beginnings and started our day walk from Wainora Track at 11.00am, took 4.5 hours to get to the hut at 3.30pm. Half an hour rest for tea then walked down the other route to Kaueranga Valley for another 3.5 hours. We finished our walk at 7.30pm then passsing through Thames for KFC meal and drove back to Auckland nearly 10.30pm.
