Mokoroa Falls Track

Good views of the 11m Mokoroa Falls.

Take Wairere Road westward from Waitakere. This becomes Horseman Road. Locate the car park before the road end.

The wide track passes the Goldie Bush Walkway turn off and leads through light kauri forest, dropping gently to an impressive lookout.  The Mokoroa Falls and the Houheria Stream Falls combine to form an amphitheatre. It is worth taking the track down to the river. The forest alongside Mokoroa Stream is notably different form the dry forest above: rich and diverse.
